The Mission Darkness™ BlockBox Touch Pro is an innovative modular, collapsible, and transportable mobile device analysis enclosure. It includes a patented aluminum glove mount plate with two built-in replaceable conductive gloves, a USB 3.0 filter, device preview window, extra-large interior space, and a replaceable faraday shell, collectively allowing the operator to access and extract data on scene, as well as connect to a charging source. Designed specifically for law enforcement and military forensic investigators, the BlockBox Touch Pro allows users to operate devices ranging in size from cell phones to laptops in order to conduct device triage, analysis, and extraction while maintaining an RF shielded environment internally. The BlockBox Touch Pro’s replaceable shell is built with two layers of high-shielding TitanRF™ Faraday Fabric, plus a patent pending RFMagLink™ magnetic closure system and collapsible carbon fiber structure walls with friction-hinges to securely hold the enclosure open. What sets this product apart from other analysis enclosures is it’s abaility to have the separate components replaced by the user, including the conductive gloves, shielded filter, carbon fiber structure walls, and faraday shell. A unique ”non-stitch seamless construction” attachment method is employed throughout the BlockBox Touch Pro to ensure that the RF shielding is uncompromised at all attachment points. This user-repairable modular system extends the product’s lifespan, should the unit become tarnished, punctured, contaminated, or damaged.

The faraday chamber uses a patent pending RFMagLink closure system, allowing an operator to effortlessly open and close the faraday chamber by way of a multi-layer magnetic seal holding the closure in place. This type of closure is preferred for forensic use because it increases the product’s overall longevity, compared to faraday enclosures built with Velcro closures which can damage conductive gloves and wear out with frequent use due to ”hard pulling” on the closure area. The faraday chamber blocks all wireless signals including WiFi (2.4 & 5GHz), Bluetooth, cell signals including 5G networks, GPS, RFID, NFC, and radio signals from low MHz to 40GHz.

The kit includes an additional replaceable faraday shell, a set of replacement conductive gloves, two high-quality Cable Sets, usage instructions, a signal-dampening foam block (which provides a padded platform as well as increased shielding in high-signal strength environments), two stylus pens, a hand tool to replace the parts, and a padded carrying case to hold the accessories and collapsed BlockBox Touch Pro. The lightweight kit can be easily transported, making it the perfect analysis enclosure for both lab and field operations.

 

User-Replaceable Components Including the Outer Farady Shell

The shell of the BlockBox Touch Pro is constructed from RF blocking faraday material, designed to attach to the patented replaceable glove mount. This feature enables forensic teams to replace the shell as needed, ensuring a clean working environment and preventing contamination of crucial evidence. The replaceable outer shell, made of lightweight faraday fabric, can be folded into a smaller size, enhancing portability without compromising the functionality and integrity of the enclosure. All replacement parts ca be easily installed using the hand tool provided and by following the instructions provided. *Always confirm the shielding effectiveness using a signal analyzer or communicable device after installation.

  • Faraday shell replacement: One replacement faraday shell is included with the kit. You can purchase additional shells as needed and install them to the front panel yourself; cost: $600 for a set of two replacement shells.
  • Conductive gloves replacement: One replacement set of conductive gloves are included with the kit. You can purchase additional gloves as needed and install them to the front panel yourself; cost: $150 for a set of two replacement gloves.

USB 3.0 Filter & Cable Details

The shielded USB 3.0 filter enables dual-sided device connectivity, allowing a device to be charged or have data extracted while remaining isolated from RF signals. The kit includes a USB extension cable that connects to the inside of the USB filter. This makes it easy to connect a device internally using a compatible USB cable tip (a variety of commonly used cable tips are included). The included USB B/M to A/M cable can be used on the external side of the filter to connect to a power source or extraction tool.

*If you are using your own cables (not ones we provided in the kit), be aware that all cables used to connect to the USB filter both internally and externally need to be SHIELDED.

Compatible With Faraday Bags

A user can safely transfer devices stored inside individual faraday bags to the BlockBox Touch Pro while maintaining RF shielding. Once the RFMagLink closure seal is closed, the faraday bag can be opened inside of the enclosure. Mission Darkness NeoLok faraday bags with a magnetic closure are preferred for use with conductive gloves because they eliminate the risk of puncturing a glove with scissors (often used to cut a faraday bag open) or harsh Velcro (used in most standard faraday bag closures).
