PROSAFE Standard – Acoustic Safe

Protect sensitive conversations from mobile phone recording

The PROSAFE Standard Acoustic Safe is designed to protect confidential meetings and conversations from unauthorized audio recording through mobile phones, voice recorders, dictaphones and other devices equipped with microphones.

By placing mobile phones and recording devices inside the acoustic safe and activating the integrated noise generator, the PROSAFE Standard creates an acoustic environment that makes it difficult for the devices’ microphones to capture intelligible speech.

With a capacity for up to six mobile phones, the PROSAFE Standard is suitable for board meetings, management meetings, confidential negotiations, security-sensitive environments and other situations where sensitive information must remain within the room.

Acoustic protection

The PROSAFE Standard combines acoustic isolation with active acoustic jamming. It provides:

• 35 dB acoustic attenuation
• 50 dB acoustic jamming inside the box
• Multiple selectable noise and sound patterns
• Smooth adjustment of the noise level via a control knob
• 350 mW output power
• 36 Ω / 500 mW loudspeaker

The integrated acoustic generator provides several types of signals, including:

• White noise – 2 types
• Speech-like noise – 2 types
• Metronome – 2 types
• Rhythmic sound with different frequencies – 1 type
• Combined mode – four different noises alternating sequentially

The different sound modes allow the system to be adapted to different acoustic protection and testing requirements.

Designed for confidential environments

The PROSAFE Standard allows mobile phones to remain in the meeting room while their microphones are acoustically protected. Users can therefore keep their devices nearby rather than leaving them outside the room or removing their batteries.

The system is designed for use during:

Capacity and configuration

The standard PROSAFE accommodates up to six mobile phones and can optionally be equipped with individual compartments for each device.

The standard external dimensions are:

33 × 24 × 15 cm

The internal dimensions are:

23 × 19 × 12 cm

The safe is available with a standard solid lid, while a transparent lid is available as an optional modification. USB and USB-C charging outputs are also available as options.

Optional EMI shielding

For applications where protection against wireless communication is also required, the PROSAFE Standard can be supplied with optional electromagnetic (EMI) shielding.

The EMI-shielded configuration is designed to prevent the devices inside from maintaining connections to mobile networks, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Selcom specifies approximately 35 dB attenuation across 400 MHz–6500 MHz for the shielded configuration.

The standard acoustic model itself does not perform radio jamming; EMI shielding is an optional modification.

Power and charging

The PROSAFE Standard can be powered using an external 12 V power supply or a 9 V 6F22 non-rechargeable battery.

Battery operation provides:

• At maximum noise level: ≥ 5 hours
• At minimum noise level: > 10 hours
